“Umm, Chisato? What’s this?” Takina’s voice could be heard from the kitchen. “Is this some sort of energy drink?”
Chisato blinked as she raised her head from placing plates on the table. “Energy drink?” She set the table and walked towards Takina.
Takina pointed to Chisato who peeked at the fridge with her a mysterious brown bottle that had the Alan Institute owl logo.
“Ah~ Yoshi-san said it was a prototype of some sort, since I liked animals, and that it could be relaxing. I have no idea what it does though. He did insist it would be safe for the body, and that I should share it with you.” Chisato raised an eyebrow. “I don’t think he’d do something bad–ah wait wait wait! Why are you opening it!?”
“If I don’t detect or feel anything bad about it, then I will trust the institute. I won’t let them put you in danger any longer.” Takina uncapped the bottle and dunked down the liquid content of the bottle.
“Ah! Takina! What if you’re the one who gets into dange—bwah!” A mysterious smoke popped into the air.
“So that’s how we ended up here.” Chisato slouched forward in tiredness as she showed Takina to Mizuki, Kurumi, and Mika. “Sensei~ Couldn’t you ask Yoshi-san if they have a cure or something?”
“I’ll send him a message.” Mika took out his phone and typed on it.
Takina only looked at them silently. Large black cat ears on top of her head, and a long black cat tail on her tailbone. Her tail’s tip slowly moved left and right, calm and reassured.
“Are your ears and tail really real?” Mizuki raised an eyebrow as she looked at Takina. She tried to reach for one of the ears on top of her head but it suddenly flinched as Takina took a step sidewards.
“…Please don’t touch them.”
“We already checked~ They’re real!” Chisato hopped over to one of the chairs on the counter. She turned to Kurumi and Mizuki. “They’re really really soft~~~”
“Why can Chisato touch them but not us!?” Mizuki complained as she tried to reach for the ears again.
“I had to ask someone to check them of course, and only Chisato was there…” Takina glared at Chisato who only grinned at her. “…It’s not like I wanted her to touch them or anything.”
Takina’s tail suddenly moved left and right in a wild and angry way.
Chisato, Mizuki, and Kurumi only looked at her, amused. “The tsundere…!”
“And so, let’s just say it’s a one day limited Cat Day special!” Chisato stretched her arms forward with sets of cat ears headbands on each hand! “Sensei, you want one too?”
“Are you making fun of me?” Mika only raised his eyebrows as Chisato only made a ‘nishishi’ at him.
“If Yoshi-san visits, you should wear one~” Chisato grinned as she handed one to Kurumi and Mizuki, placed a white headband one on her own. “How is it?” She turned around to Takina with both her hands raised like a paw.
Takina gave her a short and curt thumbs up. “Is this really okay? I’m sorry that everyone suddenly had to…”
“It’s fine. Maybe we’d get more customers too… Or better yet, a handsome young man could pick meow up!” Mizuki turned to do the hand paw pose as well, giving out her best on the most seductive meow.
“…Yeah, good luck.” Chisato only responded to her dryly. “It’ll be fine, Takina~”
“If you say so…”
Just as how everyone expected it so, for that day the cafe suddenly had plenty of visitors. Kurumi, who was taking a break, took a look at their SNS accounts and saw how people buzzed about the cafe’s cute ‘real-looking’ cat mascot.
“One of them has a tail, and it moves!”
“There’s one who has really real looking cat ears and tail, and she’s so cute!”
“Oh~ Takina, you’re super popular.” Kurumi looked at Takina who was also taking a break with her. “If we continued this, maybe we could be rich.”
“…I would be glad if we could get a lot of traffic, but this is tiring…” Takina’s black ears drooped forward as her tail’s tip moved up and down impatiently.
“Takina!” Chisato peeked into their room with a huge smile. “O- Ohh… Are you okay?” She looked at her worriedly.
Takina’s black cat ears stood up upon hearing Chisato’s voice and her tail stopped moving. “Only a little tired.”
“A customer was asking for you but I’ll let them know we’re done for today.” Chisato gave her a smile.
“Ah, no, I’m going–“
“No-no. You, sit there, and rest.” Chisato gave her a reassuring grin and went back to the halls.
“You sure don’t say it much, but your tail sure is honest.” Kurumi commented from inside the yukata storage and Takina immediately turned to her with her ears up straight with her tail standing up straight.
Takina yawned as she looked at the door to the break room. It was almost evening, and it was time for the cafe to close down. She closed her eyes for a moment before feeling a soft caress onto her cat ears followed by a familiar soft scent.
“Chisato…?” Takina sleepily looked at the person standing in front of her, already wearing her lycoris uniform instead of the cafe’s.
“Sleepy?” Chisato smiled at her. “We already closed for today. Wanna go home?”
“Only a little… Didn’t we have some duties for today?” Takina leaned her head forward her forehead leaning onto Chisato’s chest, eyes half-closed.
“They weren’t any rush so we could just do them tomorrow.” Chisato hugged Takina’s head as she gently caressed her hair, running her hand up and down the back of her head. “Yoshi-san also said that it should only last for twenty-four hours. He mentioned that you should go over for a check up tomorrow to make sure there are no other effects.”
“Mm…” Takina mustered her best reaction as her tail slowly moved up and down, as if in comfort. “I got it…”
Chisato wrapped her other hand around Takina’s shoulders as she continued to rub Takina’s head, her hands slowly moving up to those black ears, softly scratching them.
“…Chi…sato… Stop it.” Takina leaned her head heavier onto Chisato’s body. “…I’ll fall asleep…”
“That’s fine? I could just carry you home.” Chisato kissed the center of Takina’s two ears before continuing to rub her ears, her tail has mostly stopped moving, aside for the tip that was slowly tapping up and down.
“…I’ll walk.” Takina opened her eyes as she sleepily looked up to Chisato’s face. She grabbed Chisato’s shoulders and used her for balance so she could get up on her two feet. Not having noticed her legs falling asleep her whole weight fell onto Chisato’s body. “I’m sorry–“
“It’s okay, it’s okay~” Chisato already had her arms wrapped around Takina’s body as she rubbed her back. “Let me know when you get your feeling back on your legs.”
Takina just closed her eyes again her tail moving up and down before unconsciously wrapping itself around Chisato’s arm. “…Okay.”
Chisato closed her eyes as she stopped her hand from moving to take in the fact that Takina had just wrapped her tail around her arm. “So cuuute…!!!!! Her tail is so soft…”
“Chisato? Aren’t you going home yet?” Mika knocked on the door in the back room before he entered. “Chisato?”
“Umm… Sensei, can we stay over? I think Takina–“
“I’m awake.” Takina opened her eyes and parted from Chisato’s embrace. “I’ll go get changed.”
Chisato blinked at the sudden cold shoulder that left her and Mika wondering. “Cat?”
Mika shrugged. “Definitely a cat.”
One of the things Takina does not understand since she apparently became a cat, was the fact that she kept on seeking that one really nice smelling scent that she has carried with her since the safehouse. It makes her annoyed when it mixes with the scent of other people, or the fact that she just feels sleepy all the time when she’s not doing anything.
Takina put on her uniform as she slowly closed the buttons feeling a yawn coming again. “…Maybe I should just sleep after getting home…” She quickly closed the rest of her buttons, double checked if she left anything and exited the dressing room.
“Chisato.”
“O- Oh~ Great work today.” Chisato walked towards Takina and removed her hair that was still tucked inside her shirt. “Are you sure you’re really okay?”
Takina nodded as Chisato helped her fix her hair. “If it’s just walking home, I think I’ll be fine…”
“Okay.” Chisato grinned at her and wrapped her poncho around her body to hide the tail, and gently covered her head with a beret to hide the ears. “Done, let’s go. Sensei~ We’re going home now~”
Takina bowed at everyone in the cafe and left together with Chisato.
Chisato carried a towel on her shoulder as she rubbed her still damp hair, and stopped abruptly in front of the bathroom. “…?” Then she realized something as she turned to Takina who had finished drying her hair. “…You’re not afraid of water?”
“Not so, it seems.” Takina looked at her in confusion. “I suppose not everything about me has turned cat like.”
“Well, you were already quite cat-like right from the start. I wonder if you turned into a cat because you were?” Chisato walked towards Takina and sat beside her on the couch. “The bottle didn’t mention anything about everyone turning into a cat if they drank it.”
“That’s possible… But why did I turn into a cat? Are you sure Yoshimatsu-san isn’t just experimenting weird stuff on you?” Takina raised an eyebrow at Chisato, her ears flicking and her tail wildly tapping on the couch.
“Well… I’d like to think that he’s no longer after my life…” Chisato smiled at her wryly. “Why don’t you want anyone to touch your ears?”
“…I don’t feel comfortable.” Takina looked away as she lifted her feet up the couch her tail moving left and right from its previous angry up and down motion.
“Can I touch your tail?”
“No.” Takina only looked at her flatly.
“Eh? Even if it’s me you won’t let me touch it?”
“…I feel embarrassed just by thinking about it.” Takina glared at Chisato who was already looking at her with a mischievous grin. “Really, no.”
“Che~ Should we watch a movie?” Chisato smiled at her.
“…If it doesn’t have loud sounds…” Takina cuddled next to Chisato as they sat side by side on the couch while Chisato looked at available films on the large TV connected to some digital streaming service.
It was already their daily habit to watch different films before sleeping at night. According to Takina, it was the only way to get Chisato off her phone before sleeping, so she agreed.
Right at the middle of the movie, Chisato noticed that the cat ears right next to her has stopped moving at every sound and turned to Takina who seemed to have already fallen asleep. Chisato smiled at her and turned off the TV after pausing the movie. She turned to Takina and placed her hands on her back and behind her legs and lifted her up the couch to bring her to the bedroom.
Chisato closed the door behind her with her feet and gently laid Takina onto the bed. Unknowingly brushing her hand on that soft and fluffy black tail, Takina beneath her stirred.
“Nn… Ngh…” Takina half-opened her eyes as she gently grabbed Chisato’s shoulders. “Chisato…”
“Eh? Ah, s- sorry, I swear I didn’t mean to to touch–” Chisato rested her elbow next to Takina’s head as she quickly removed her hand from Takina’s waist.
“…My body feels weird… Like, suddenly I’m all ticklish, and hot…” Takina sighed as she looked up to Chisato’s face with half-opened eyes, and her mouth open, as if panting.
Chisato swallowed as she looked at Takina. “I knew–heard–read that a cat’s tails are always sensitive…” She felt a warm hand on her cheek as she stared into Takina’s purple eyes.
“…Kiss me?” Takina slowly moved her body closer to Chisato’s as she closed her eyes.
“O- Oh… Y- Yeah……” Chisato stopped thinking as their lips connected in a warm kiss. She immediately parted from the kiss and looked at Takina’s face for a response. When she didn’t open her eyes, as if waiting for more, Chisato kissed her again, longer.
Chisato’s hands explored, lightly touching over those black ears, then those soft black hair, trailing right around her human ears as they continued to kiss, feeling each other’s bodies closer, warmer. Chisato decided to risk it as she softly touched Takina’s waist softly trailing that black tail along her palm as she kissed her.
Takina gasped for air as Chisato’s soft hands gently touched the whole length of her very sensitive cat tail. “Chisa… to…”
“W- Was that bad? I’m sorry, I won’t–“
Takina looked away from her eyes. “…You’ve already put me in the mood…” She looked at her quickly before turning away again. “…Take some responsibility.”
Chisato felt her own breathe hitch in her throat. There was no more going back.
Takina opened her eyes to the sun that has already risen. Curious, she reached up for her own head and was relieved to learn that there were no longer cat ears on it. She turned to her side and was met by a goofy smile.
“Wh- What…?” Takina blushed as she hugged the sheets to her naked body, remembering the events of last night.
“I just suddenly remembered how cute you were last night.” Chisato grinned. “It felt like I was awakening to something…”
“Don’t awaken to weird things.” Takina blushed as she grabbed a pillow and gently pushed it onto Chisato’s face. “Having your tail touched felt so weird…”
“What was it like?”
“I’m not telling.”
“I touched it once and it was like suddenly, you were so into it.”
“Don’t talk about it.”
“What did it feel like?”
“Chisato, you’re annoying.”
“Eh~ Tell me~”
“No.”
“Takina~”
“…No.”
“Ehhhhhhh.”
(Takina Turned Into A Cat For A Day/END)
“Oh. Normal today. Welcome back.” Kurumi greeted Takina and Chisato as they arrived in the cafe the next day.
“Had any fun?” Mizuki gave Chisato a knowing grin.
“Huh?” Chisato only looked at her as her face immediately turned red.
“Why are you blushing!?” Mizuki shouted at her as Takina sighed.
“I don’t know! Why would you ask that?!” Chisato shouted back at Mizuki who got up from her chair.
“You two children, it’s still too early for you two!”
“Haaah…” Takina sighed.
“So what’s her weak part huh?” Mizuki elbowed Chisato with an evil grin.
“Uhh… Her tail–gwarghh!” Chisato felt her neck getting choked as her collar was grabbed from the back. “Ta- Takina!”
“We have to change, or we can’t open the store.”
“Oooohhh boy.” Kurumi laughed at Chisato who stretched her arms forward as if looking for help.
