“Yes, please sit down.” The gentle voice of a long haired brunette with her bangs clipped upwards to the back of her head. She tipped up her eyeglasses. “Please feel free to get some drinks, or candies as we begin this session.”
Chisato and Takina sat on separate chairs with a small table of drinks and snacks rested in between them. They were both making it seem like everything was okay.
“Where did the two of you meet?”
“Five years ago, in Miyakojima.”
“Six years.” Takina chided in with a flat expression.
“Err… Five or six years ago, in Miyakojima.”
“What were your relationship then? Before you became each other’s partners and got married? From one to ten with ten as the highest.”
“Eight.” The both of them answered as a matter of fact.
“Good, good. Do you still have sex outside of your heat and rut periods?”
“I don’t understand the question.” Takina answered flatly.
“Is this a one to ten kind? Like one… with not so many… zero?” Chisato made a zero with her hand as Takina only glared at her.
“Oh boy…” The marriage counselor Shinohara Saori-san only looked at them, troubled.

Takina fired her sniper rifle, and was bewildered by what she just saw. “Did this person just dodge… a bullet?” The blonde person in a cap and sunglasses looked directly at her location. They motioned their hands to cover the ‘target’ as the bullet dodging maniac ran towards her sniping location with pinpoint reaction.
“Abort mission. Walnut, get me an escape point.” Takina quickly disassembled her sniper rifle and stashed it in its case as she ran away towards the building’s emergency exit with a pistol in her hands.
“Turn right, and down the chute.” The voice ‘Walnut’ ordered and Takina complied without hesitation. At the end of the chute from the construction building was an open door to a van. Takina immediately jumped inside the van as it drove off.
The blonde person immediately arrived on the rooftop where the sniper was. The glint on the floor piqued her sight, picking up an empty sniper shell. “This is Nishikigi Chisato. The sniper escaped.” She inhaled deeply smelling the familiar scent of a certain someone. It was faint, but it was surely there. She had a bad feeling.
~*
“This is why a second class like you could never be trusted.” Harukawa Fuki, a top assassin from the DA (Direct Attack) scoffed at Nishikigi Takina, for letting her target get away, and alive. “I told you, you’ve gotten softer than you used to be since you married that bumbling idiot of an alpha.”
“She has nothing to do with this.” Takina gritted her teeth as she looked at the Commanding Officer, Kusunoki. “Kusunoki-san, I–“
“You’ve been intercepted, not to mention, you accidentally left your bullet. Find out the identity of this ‘bullet dodger’ you mentioned, and get rid of them in 48 hours.” Kusunoki was strict, and while it meant overtime, Takina knew that she had no choice this time.
“Hmph.” Fuki walked away, together with her partner Otome Sakura. “This is why lone wolves should never be allowed to operate high value targets.”
Takina quietly took her seat in their makeshift office, that was an IT company as a front, and watched the footage they captured from the sniper rifle’s scope. She watched it over and over again until she noticed something. The ring on the blonde person’s left hand. It looked familiar… In fact, it was far too familiar… that it looked exactly the same one that was on her hand.
She looked at her own left hand’s ring finger. The two of them swore to get unique ones for each other, because Chisato didn’t want it to be ‘just another one’. It was silver, but on the outside it had an owl insignia, that was a signal of their love, because their relationship started with Takina taking notice of Chisato’s owl necklace and praising it.
Her eyes widened as she had the footage upscaled, and what a discovery it was.

“Sensei~ Mizuki~ Any discoveries on that bullet?” Chisato settled her elbow onto the counter of Cafe LycoReco as she waited.
“Hold on a minute ya lil’ brat I’m getting the address now.” Mizuki, the resident drunkard half-shouted at her as she waited for the information on her laptop to load.
“I’m going to be on my mid-twenties soon, get a new line!” Chisato stuck her tongue out at her.
“I got it. It’s this address.” Mizuki printed it, and handed the paper to Chisato.
Soon, Chisato found her on the doorstep of her wife’s I.T. company’s building. She wasn’t misreading it, she wasn’t misunderstanding it. The bullet’s digital trace was from here… Takina…?
She headed inside the building and inquired. “I’d like to meet Nishikigi Takina. It’s her other half.”
The receptionist called for her, and was back almost immediately. “She would like you to know that she’s a bit busy right now, and that to see you at dinner.”
Chisato smiled wryly. “Please tell her, I’ll be there.”
~*
“I’m home~” Chisato warily looked around the door entrance, checking if there were any traps or anyone waiting for her. She loosened her necktie, that was from the suit set she always wore to her investigation jobs.
“Ah, Chisato. Welcome home.” Takina greeted her just as Chisato arrived onto their connected living room and dining hall. “I just finished cooking dinner.” They share a chaste kiss, as normal couples do.
“O- Ohh~ Is there anything I can help with?” Chisato rested her hand onto the dining table as she watched Takina move over to the kitchen. “You’re dressed really flashy today. How’s work?”
“You can set the table.” Takina smiled at her as she lifted up a pot of curry after turning off the stove. “Work didn’t go that well, but in return, I had discovered something that was worth dressing up for.”
Chisato took a set of pot holders and laid it on the kitchen table for the pot of curry and the lid. She then set the table with plates and spoon, as well as glasses for some water. Takina soon arrived with the pot of curry, encouraging Chisato to sit down as she helped her plate into some rice from the cooker and then some of those special curry. She set the plate on Chisato’s side before scooping for herself.
Chisato watched Takina go back to her spot on the table. She lowly whispered ‘Thank you for the food’ before slowly scooping up a spoonful of rice and then curry, as she put it in her mouth. Chewing slowly, then swallowing. “Are you not eating?”
Glad that there wasn’t any poison on it, Chisato grinned, her usual one and was about to start eating when she noticed that the glasses didn’t have any water in them. “Wait, let me pour you a glass.” She got up from her chair and beelined towards Takina’s side of the table. She grabbed the pitcher of cold water. She aimed for the glass before slowly knocking it off to the floor.
Without thinking about it and reacting on time Takina unconsciously caught the glass a few centimeters from the ground. Amethyst orbs widened as she looked at the glass in her hand as Chisato watched her. Takina let go of the glass as it shattered into pieces on the floor.
“I’ve got it.” Chisato immediately set the pitcher on the table.
“I’ll grab the dustpan and the broom.” Takina immediately left her chair as they went their separate ways in towards somewhere. “How could I have let my guard down like that?” She shook her head as she quietly walked towards the breaker and turned off the power of the house’s main breaker.
Chisato hid inside the bathroom, reaching under the sink for a handgun she kept in a secret compartment. She stared at the gun in her hand until the lights turned off for the whole house. She clutched the gun in her hand as she peeked outside the door. “Takina?”
Her voice echoed inside the eerily quiet home. She tiptoed back towards the kitchen, grabbing a picture frame from a cabinet. Chisato angled the picture frame’s glass towards the top of the stairs before briefly seeing the glint of a gun muzzle, shooting away the frame from her hand as it bounced towards the wall, sliding near her feet.
It was a photo of the two of them as they married each other in Miyakojima. Although Takina’s smile was small and awkward, it was cute, and innocent… She believed that what she saw the past few years as they lived together, shared space, and professed their love, were real.
“Why didn’t you say anything?!” Takina shouted from somewhere.
“Why would I say something?! I thought people didn’t like it when they learn the people they’re dating is actually a detective?!” Chisato shouted back as a few more bullets hit the wall across to where she was. “Takina!”
“Why would you keep that a secret?!”
“I wasn’t trying to! Okay, maybe I was! I’m sorry!” Chisato apologized as she ran backwards towards the kitchen. “Was everything a lie? Is this all just a cover for your assassination work?!”
“A lie…?” Takina’s voice was quiet. “A cover up…? You don’t know anything about me.”
“That’s exactly what I’m getting at!” Chisato shouted as she slid an empty glass towards the direction of the stairs as it shattered immediately from a bullet. “I’ve been truthful to you! Everything! Well… maybe except about what my work is… And I don’t know anything about you.”
“Now I’m starting to feel like I don’t know anything about you as well.” Takina slowly descended the stairs before ripping part of her long red dress as to not hinder her walking. She also removed her slightly high heels and settled it to elsewhere. “Chisato!”
Chisato quietly went for the living room, running past a row of photos before her eyes landed onto a photo of them kissing, taken from her own phone. “Ngh…” She gripped the gun in her hand as she tore her eyes away from the photo silently slipping towards the kitchen counter.
“Use your gun, and shoot at me!” Takina held onto her silenced M&P with both hands as she shouted at the mildly dark and empty house she shared with Chisato.
“Wait! Takina, please let’s talk–” Chisato popped her head from under the kitchen counter both hands above her head, before immediately moving her head sidewards to dodge a bullet. “Listen!”
After living peaceful lives, keeping each other’s identity as a hired assassin (Takina) and skilled detective (Chisato) a secret, they were given an incidental order of having to target/investigate the same person.
With the assassination and investigation failing, they both find out each other’s secret identities, with their employers sending them to end each other, or else they will get targeted.
Takina threw a glass at Chisato’s way and Chisato had no choice but to draw her gun, firing a bullet at the glass, breaking at contact, before running towards the storage room right below the stairs.
For the past few years, they both lived in a two floor humble home, with a basement. A spacious kitchen with a center aisle, a stove with four gas ranges, and a tall fridge. Their storage room, that also has a door to the basement, and the garage, was filled with boxes, and their old items and decorations… and likely some hidden guns.
Silenced shots were heard as it followed Chisato’s movement into the storage. Takina grabbed a flashlight from one of the kitchen cupboards. She clicked it open as she aimed the light right behind her gun hand, slowly clearing the path towards the now open storage room door.
She flashed her light around the rows and rows of shelved boxes. She saw a slight glint near the door to the garage room, immediately shooting there twice before reloading. “Chisato?” Takina gently called as she entered the storage room. After a step, into the darkness with only the light of her flash light, a ball of blonde ran right into her view knocking her flashlight out of her hands.
“Takina! Listen to me first!” Chisato pushed away Takina’s gun hand with her gun hand as she grabbed her wrist with her other. “I’m not going to shoot you!”
Takina only frowned at her as she took a few steps back, firing two shots at her way that were swiftly dodged. “I have no reason to believe you.”
“Were these past few years mean nothing to you?” Chisato’s voice quivered as she disappeared into the darkness of the storage room. “I…”
“Ugh…!” Takina shot a few bullets towards the general direction of where Chisato disappeared at. She quickly bolted for the flashlight, rolling forward as she grabbed it, immediately scanning her general area. “…How could you say that…?” She whispered under her breath as she lowered her firing gun and flashed around the area to look for where Chisato would be.
“I told them, I’ll resign, because I don’t want to do this!” Chisato spoke from behind a few boxes, and by reflex Takina shot a few bullets her way, going through the boxes. “Oh crap.” Chisato tried to run for the next shelf, only to trip onto an empty bucket. She rolled forward hitting her back onto the asphalt floor, her gun hand slamming hard onto the ground accidentally hitting the trigger on impact.
Takina looked at the bullet mark on the wall behind her, that only narrowly almost hit her on the face. “…Chisato!”
“It was an accident! I would never shoot at you!” Chisato immediately got up from the floor running away towards the garage as bullets chased her from Takina’s direction. She heard footsteps follow her closely as she immediately jumped over a few boxes, kicking a spray can under the car.
Lights flashed inside the garage as Takina followed Chisato inside it. She pressed her back near the wall as she reloaded her gun before slowly trailing the flashlight around the garage, the light refraction passing through their black car to check if there’s a possibility of Chisato hiding behind it, or inside it.
As Takina tried to search for Chisato inside the garage, she heard something slide near her. She shone her light as a spray can hit her bare feet. She immediately turned to the direction where it came from and fired her gun.
Chisato ducked as a bullet hit the wall in front of her. “Oh crap, she mad.” She ran away towards the back of their car as she looked for something to use. The grocery they bought from the other day was still on the table near the car, and weren’t put away yet. It showed how sudden the change in their behaviors were after that one job that went sideways. They didn’t even have time to talk to each other, or say any sort of words for each other.
Were the ‘I love you’s they shared all fake? What about the kisses? Those passionate nights… Those evenings of bed nesting, and seasonal heats…? Those talk about a family, children?
Takina fired blindly, a bullet hitting one of the metal poles as it ricocheted towards the side of the car. “Gah!” Chisato’s voice rose, followed by a body falling over somewhere.
Bright amethyst eyes widened as she dropped her flashlight and searched for the light switch of the garage. “Chisato?” She called, worry in her voice as she lowered her gun hand, slowly peaking at the side of the car. Quicker than she could react, there was a flash of red then her back was flat on the ground. “Chisato?”
Chisato pointed her gun at Takina’s face as blood dripped from her left check where the bullet had ricocheted that she couldn’t dodge. Her eyes were intense, and her body rigid, as if she was working on auto-pilot. Her alpha pheromones up in the air, as her alpha instincts kicked in. She sat on Takina’s waist, one knee on her wrist, as her left held her gun hand down, with the pistol square on Takina’s forehead. She panted as she looked watched her coldly. Her breathing calming as she gripped her gun tightly as it shook from her hand. “T- Takina…?” That familiar omega scent calming her down almost immediately.
“Shoot me.” Takina stared at Chisato, her eyes staring straight towards those bright red ones. “It would make more sense for you to…”
“No! I can’t… I can’t shoot you. I can’t do this.” Chisato removed her finger from the trigger as the magazine of her gun fell onto the floor with a thud. She cocked the gun as the loaded bullet flung away behind her. She slid the gun far away from her, removing her knee from Takina’s hand. She pulled onto Takina’s wrist, aiming that silenced M&P handgun at her own heart. “…Shoot me.”
“Chisato…”
“…Was all these years just nothing to you? Because to me… they were everything. We’ve had our share of fights, we haven’t been together lately outside of your heats… We’ve both been busy… But… I love you…” Chisato gently touched Takina’s cheeks as her left hand tightened onto Takina’s hand that still held her gun hand. “However… If you wanted this hit… You can take it.”
“You’re not very convincing when your hands are shaking like this…” Takina removed her finger from the trigger as she pushed the safety on of her gun.
“…You aren’t convincing me either when you have tears in your eyes…” Chisato wiped the tears falling from those eyes.
Takina fought off Chisato’s hands that were on her’s as she threw her gun away sidewards, sliding somewhere. “…Of course, they were real for me too.” She sighed as she gently touched the wound on Chisato’s left cheek. “I’m sorry…”
Chisato took in Takina’s hand that was on her cheeks, kissing her fingers gently, then her palms. “It’s fine… I’m okay…” She nuzzled Takina’s palm with her nose. “I love you… Takina… Your name’s really Takina, right?”
“Yes… Um… Chisato.”
“If you’re wondering about it… I’ll say it again.” Chisato kissed Takina’s palm, then her wrist. “I love you, I do, I always did. And my name’s really Nishikigi Chisato. Everything about me is the truth… even the part where I said I worked for a coffee shop. What… about you?”
Chisato got off Takina’s body as she gently pulled her to sit up on the floor, fixing her disheveled dress. She also removed her own coat as she covered Takina’s exposed back from the backless dress.
“I…” Takina graciously accepted the coat as the two of them sat down in their own cold garage asphalt. She looked away from Chisato’s inquisitive red eyes. “…I have fallen in love with you.”
“E- Eh…?” Chisato felt herself blush like a teenager, finally, finally, talking heart to heart after a connection of one alpha to an omega, for so many years…? “T- Takina…?”
“Of course, at first, I only saw it as an opportunity. Being bound to a good natured alpha such as you, soon the marriage became a tool to use to keep my other identity hidden. My heat was stable, and I could function normally everyday. However… All of your heartfelt gestures, the things you’ve taught me, I could not help but… feel.” Takina hugged the coat around her shoulders as she stared at her lap. “As time passed by I started to feel more guilty for hiding it… and then this happened. I… would not have been able to do it. I think what they said about me was right. I’ve gotten soft.”
“Takina…” Chisato smiled at her as she gently took her hand, clutching that coat, into her own. “…I guess we have to redo every single one of our conversations.”
Takina laughed. “…It’s not like I’ve lied much about anything either… I just didn’t say the full truth.” She closed her eyes as she felt warm lips on her own. “Chisato…”
“Is it okay?” Chisato kissed her lips again, gently before kissing her forehead.
“…Yes.” Takina shyly wrapped her arms around Chisato’s shoulders as her lips were captured into a long and hungry kiss, almost at the same time finding her body being lifted from the ground, and her butt being gently settled on top of the hood of their car. “Chisa…to…”
Takina wrapped her lags around Chisato’s waist as she felt her back being gently laid onto the hood of the car with the comfortable coat as cushion while they kissed. “Takina… I love you.”
Chisato started trailing kisses down her jaw, her neck, and towards those collarbones as she unclasped the dress from her nape, pulling it downwards to expose those plump breasts. She sucked onto one of those collarbones as she swiftly unbuckled her bed pulling out the whole belt and throwing it behind her as her pants loosed down to her waist.
“Mm.. Ngh… Chisato… Hurry…” Takina arched her back as Chisato swiftly planted another kiss mark onto her chest. “I… love you too…”
“Takina…” Chisato smiled as she warmly pressed her lips onto Takina’s before pulling down her own boxers down holding her large member. She lightly tugged onto the core of Takina’s underwear as she bunched her dress onto her waist, before sliding it sidewards, and pointing the head of her member onto her entrance. “I’m going in… Okay?”
“Mm… Hurry…” Takina gasped as she felt that large thing enter her, her legs tightening around Chisato’s waist as she felt herself being filled slowly. “Ah…! Chisato…”
Chisato closed her eyes, unexpectedly finding herself just sliding in inside her. Truthfully, it has been a long time since the last time they made love outside of Takina’s seasonal heats, and for some reason it feels better than it usually do…es… “T- Takina! Wait!”
“I- It’s… fine.” Takina closed her legs tightly around Chisato’s waist. “It’s okay, so… move?”
“Are you sure…?” Chisato looked at Takina’s face, and those mellow amethyst orbs only stared at her. “Takina…”
“Today… Let’s do it… all the way.” Takina turned her face side ways with a blush across her cheeks.
Chisato swallowed as she felt her non-beating heart beat at the image of a shy Takina… one thing she has never seen in their nights of passion as an omega and an alpha. They’ve also never had unprotected sex since they were married and for the first time…
“I’m not going to ask again… Are you sure?” Chisato closed her hands that were pressing on the car hood into fists as her breathing got faster, her alpha instincts making her breathing elated.
Takina pulled herself upwards towards Chisato’s body as she pressed her lips onto hers’s. “Yes.” She could feel those hips immediately move as that large member pushed in and out of her in a steady speed before speeding up. “Ah! Mm…! Chisato…!”
Chisato licked her lips before pushing in a warm tongue inside Takina’s mouth. She lifted her body up from the car hood as she hugged her body, continuously pumping at her by the waist as the car bounced up and down. She lightly trailed kisses down Takina’s jaw, her neck, as she opened her mouth for a bite, reaching for that nape.
“Ahh… Ngh…” Takina closed her eyes as she road an orgasm, and Chisato wasn’t letting up. She felt a tinge of pain on her shoulder as Chisato’s teeth buried onto her nape. “Chi… sato…” Takina panted her name out, as a warm tongue licked the wounds left by those fangs, as if rewriting their old alpha and omega pact with a new one.
“Takina… I love you.” Chisato moved faster and faster without letting up as she clumsily kissed Takina’s neck, then her lips once again. Her hips shook as she came inside her once, letting up a few seconds before restarting her movements once again prolonging her climax. “Ngh…! Takina… Takina…”
“I love you, too…” Takina wrapped her arms tightly around Chisato’s shoulders as she felt warmth inside her… then her moving again, in and out, in and out, being more aware of her inside her as she reached her climax again the second time. “Chisato…!”
“Want to go to the bed…?” Chisato whispered into Takina’s ears briefly stopping her movement. “I don’t think once or twice is going to satisfy me…”
“…Are you going to be able to go to the bed?”
Chisato gave her a teasing smile. “If your arms and legs are going to be able to hold on to me.”
Takina didn’t know how they got to the bed, what happened in between being carried up the stairs, while connected at the hips. Where exactly they made love, how many times it happened. It was an evening of passion, love, and sex, one that they’ve never had before… No matter how many years they’ve been together. This time was different.
Chisato pulled onto Takina’s hips, who was lying on all fours on their bed, thrusting inside her again for who-knows-how-many-th-time-that-day. Speeding up and slowing down, and speeding up, and slowing down as she planted kiss marks all over that pale and sexy back.
“Takina…” Chisato whispered onto Takina’s ears as she pumped herself inside her.
“Ngh… Mm.. Geez…” Takina breathed out as she hugged the pillow below her torso tighter as she came, and soon followed by Chisato stopping her movement, and warmth flowing inside her. “Are you… satisfied…?”
“…I think so…” Chisato breathed as she stayed still on top of Takina’s body, their bodies still connected. “Takina… I’m sorry…”
“…It’s okay…” Takina breathed out as she felt Chisato pull out of her. “Mm…” She lifted her body up from the pillow as she turned her body around and hooked an arm around Chisato’s neck, lazily kissing her on the lips. “Let’s talk… Okay?”
“Mm…” Chisato looked at her like a lost puppy before watching Takina pass out into a calming sleep.
~*
It’s been a while since a certain Takina had ever felt body and muscular pains. She struggled to roll around lazily opening her eyes to, thankfully, a dark room… but also whiler feeling the gaze of someone right next to her.
“Over did it?” Chisato’s gentle voice was near, and Takina found herself yearning for her, and her calming scent.
“Mm…” Takina closed her eyes as she felt her body being brought closer for a warm hug, warm body to warm body, as she turned around to face her. “I’ve never been this tired…”
“Same.” Chisato laughed. “…I felt like years and years of emotions just… released from me… Into… you…?” She blushed at her own words as Takina weakly pushed her shoulder away.
“…I’ll be surprised if none of those got me pregnant.” Takina confessed as she gently stroked Chisato’s shoulders. “Chisato… Are you really okay… in being with me?”
“I love you. If it’s not you, I don’t want anyone else.” Chisato grinned at her before giving her a light kiss on the cheeks. “All these years… I’ve been truthful about everything… I’m sorry I didn’t tell you that I was a detective… I didn’t want to put your life in danger…”
Takina nodded with a blush. “…I had no choice but to keep mine a secret, because that’s the rules of my agency. Like I’ve said… I have been truthful too… I do work for an I.T. agency, outside of my assassination job, and I…” She buried her face onto Chisato’s neck. “…love you, as well.”
Chisato smiled, her gaze landing onto Takina’s neck, nape, with multiple bite marks all over them. “This… I’m sorry… I couldn’t help it…”
Takina draped her arms around Chisato’s body. “It’s fine… I didn’t mind them.”
“If you really don’t then… Well… that makes me happy. I’m sorry for tiring you out… with muscle pains… though.” Chisato frowned as she gently rubbed Takina’s back. “I’m this kind of alpha, would you still want me?”
“Just as you said earlier… If it was not you, I do not want anyone else.” Takina closed her eyes. “Besides… We are still husband and wife.”
“We, indeed are, Mrs. Nishikigi.” Chisato laughed. “I really like the sound of that.”
Takina giggled onto her neck. “Me too.”
Silence engulfed them, with only the calm breathing sounds of each other, as well as each other’s scent comforting each of them.
“What should we do now? I was given 48-hours to kill you.” Takina lightly untangled herself from Chisato’s embrace.
“Actually… Me too. I mean, to apprehend you, but you know what I meant…” Chisato gave her a big smile.
“By the way, Chisato.”
“Yeah?”
“You dodge bullets?”
“…Can we talk about this later?”
“……”
“I sweat, I’m not thinking up of a lie. No more secrets.”
“No more secrets.”
“But for now, we need to recharge because we need escape.”
“Escape to where?”
“Hawaii!”

“Ah, welcome back, Mr. and Mrs. Nishikigi.” Shinohara Saori led Takina and Chisato to their seats. “Let’s begin this counseling once again today.”
Takina and Chisato followed her instructions as they sat down on the couches once again.
“So to start it off… How’s your relationship recently? From one to ten with ten as the highest.”
Chisato and Takina looked at each other. “A ten.”
“Amazing development.” Saori wrote up a note on her paper. “Hmm… Anything else?”
Chisato’s face suddenly lit up. “Oh, oh! Ask that one again! The sex one!”
“Chisato!” Takina glared at Chisato, who only grinned at her mischievously.
“Because nowadays… I’d say.” Chisato quickly closed and opened both her hands in front of her. “A ten… twenty? Maybe a hundred?”
Takina covered her face with a hand as she looked away, her ears red.
Shinohara Saori only watched them with interest. Maybe they don’t need counseling anymore.
(Mr. and Mrs. Nishikigi/END)
