“Is this lady going to be trouble?”Kurumi’s voice spoke directly into Hatsune’s ear as she pulled up multiple windows on her computer. Looks like she’s cheating on her husband.”

“We don’t really want to meddle in people’s affairs so we’re going to let that one slide, probably.” Hatsune’s voice was clear.

“Roger.” Kurumi typed up information and stashed the aforementioned lady’s information into a folder. She stretched her arms above her head and slowly opened the sliding door to peek at the light blue haired woman in the room with her.

At the center of the back room, piano teacher Togawa Sakiko had a laptop open and headphones over her head. Kurumi was at least sure she wouldn’t be able to hear any of their conversations, but she couldn’t forget the information that the eyeglasses gave her while they were talking to her earlier.

“Must be difficult to be the heiress of such a rich company…” Kurumi shook her head and closed the sliding door she had open. “Maybe I should tell Hatsune about it, at least.”

“Whew…” Kurumi heard a soft voice from outside her closet.

“Oh? Is she done with her work?” Kurumi looked at the watch. It was already almost one in the morning. “I guess for a normal person such as her, it’d already be too late.”

Kurumi pressed the comms button. “Kurumi-chan?”

“You done for today?” Kurumi asked. She watched the camera from Hatsune’s eyeglasses move around as it scanned the cafe. “Yeah, just leave that burly guy to Chisato when they get back from their mission.”

“What if it takes them until morning?” Hatsune sounded concerned.

“Your princess here is starting to feel sleepy.” Kurumi’s tone was serious but also a little playful. “Wouldn’t you want an opportunity to lift her in those strong arms of yours?”

“K- Kurumi-chan…!” Hatsune looked at the burly guy one last time. “I’ll be there.” She then turned off the comms by removing the eyeglasses.

Not soon after, there was a knock on the door, and to Kurumi’s and Hatsune’s surprise, there was no answer.

One Togawa Sakiko was already curled on the floor, sleeping softly. Kurumi peeked from her closet door while Hatsune only watched the sleeping girl as she slowly took the spot near her.

Feeling the warmth, Sakiko suddenly curled closer towards Hatsune’s side, her head softly touching Hatsune’s thighs… then her eyes flipped open. “Hatsune…?”

“Ah, Saki-chan. Should we go?” Hatsune smiled.

Sakiko rubbed her eyes as she slowly got up from the tatami floor. “Eh? Is your shift already done?”

“I called in extra help.” Hatsune smiled. “Is this all your stuff? I’ll help bring them.”

“Y- Yes. Thank you, Hatsune.” Sakiko smiled as the two of them started packing up.

Kurumi watched and nodded. She returned to her PC and noticed the glasses that Hatsune should be wearing were moving on their own.

“Kurumi-san~ What do I do?” The voice was high pitched and full of energy.

Kurumi smiled wryly. “Anon, huh…” There goes her peaceful evening. “Hatsune said to keep an eye out on that big burly guy.”

“Roger~” Was Anon’s energetic response.

“You could have told me Anon was going to come~” Kurumi slid open the door and peeked at Hatsune and Sakiko inside the room.

“You’ve got nobody but yourself to blame, Kurumi-chan~ Good luck.” Hatsune laughed as she and Sakiko finished packing up. “I’ll call Onee-chan later. See you tomorrow.”

“Okay. Take care.” Kurumi waved at hand at them and closed the sliding door.

Hatsune smiled at Sakiko as she lifted Sakiko’s bags over her shoulder, her own overnight stay bag on the other, and opened the door.

“We can leave through the back door; maybe we can avoid your stalker for a while.” Hatsune smiled at Sakiko who only nodded.

True to her words, they were able to leave the cafe quietly, and out to the park at the back. The pathway was covered with plenty of trees, so even if the stalker saw them walking out in that direction, they still wouldn’t know where they came from, or which door they used to leave.

“Can you feel it?” Hatsune asked as Sakiko took a step closer to her.

“Not at the moment, no.” Sakiko answered, then suddenly there were chills on her body. “U- Um… Hatsune…”

“Hm?” Hatsune turned to Sakiko and immediately felt a pair of hands wrap around her arm. “Sa- Saki-chan…?”

“I can feel it… now.” Sakiko tightened her hands around Hatsune’s arm as she hugged it tight. “I… don’t want to go back home.”

The two of them stopped walking as they reached up to a main road. There weren’t a lot of people, but a few people is better than no people.

Hatsune knew that she should prioritize the safety of their client, but she wasn’t a trained Lycoris like her sister. She couldn’t help it if her heart skipped a beat with this woman next to her. She’s had the biggest crush on this fantastic woman, and no one could have prepared her for this situation.

“Mm. I got it.” Hatsune smiled at her and quickly fished for her phone as she called Chisato. “Ah, Onee-chan?”

There was a loud sound of a bullet hitting somewhere near, then another. “Ah, Imouto-chan. What’s up?”

“Uh… Is this a good time?” Hatsune smiled wryly at Sakiko who only looked at her in confusion.

“Anytime’s a good time–whoo! Takina! There’s one more there!” There was Takina’s faint voice not from a far, then a loud bang. “What do you need?”

“Saki-chan said she didn’t want to go home.”

“Ah~ If you lose the stalker somewhere around the main road, it could push them to put bugs in her house.”

“That’s what I was thinking too.”

“Whoo! Ah~ Eh? We’re done?” Chisato’s voice on the phone was full of energy, and fun.

“Hah… Stop playing around, Chisato.” That was definitely Takina’s voice. “Hatsune? You can take her to Safe House 5. We’ll do the sweep tomorrow morning.”

“Ah, don’t end the ca–” Beep.

Sakiko looked up at Hatsune’s face. “That sounded a little chaotic.”

“Haha… The two of them are always like that.” Hatsune smiled wryly. Her phone buzzed again, and she immediately answered. “Onee-chan?”

“You’re taking home Sakiko-chan? You need protection?” Followed by a teasing snicker from her older sister.

“O- Onee-chan!” A blush immediately formed on Hatsune’s cheeks.

“Play safely. Stay protected, Imouto-chan! Ahh! Takina–“ Beep.

Hatsune closed her eyes, phone still in her hand as she tried to calm her breathing. “I didn’t need something like that, Onee-chan!”

“Are you alright?” Sakiko looked up at Hatsune, worry all over her expression. “Hatsune?”

“Uu… I- I’m fine! Thank you, Saki-chan.” Hatsune shook her head clear of ill thoughts and turned to the cute girl in her arms. “L- Let’s go? Follow me.”

“Okay.” Sakiko smiled at her and tightened her hug on Hatsune’s arm. It was an entirely normal smile, but to Hatsune, it was so bright, not to mention, it sent her heart thumping.

After the Enkuboku Incident, Mika was convinced that there should be more safe houses for the Lycoris within the city, so the DA had started to purchase more of them. There were now 8 safe houses, a few of them having been relocated because of Majima.

Hatsune and Sakiko walked towards Kinshicho Station, where it is mostly congested even during midnight. She grabbed onto Sakiko’s hand and smiled at her as they started a small jog inside the station.

Sakiko tightly held onto Hatsune’s hand as they lightly jogged towards an apartment building. The blonde immediately opened the door to room 602, and just like anybody else, she was surprised to see that it was empty.

Without turning on the lights, Hatsune led Sakiko towards an opening on the floor boards.

“Saki-chan, here.” Hatsune lightly pulled on Sakiko’s hand and opened the floor hatch. Hatsune climbed the stairs first and then waited for Sakiko to get down with her before she half-climbed up to close the hatch. “Do you still feel like you’re being watched?”

Sakiko shook her head. “Not at all… but what is this place?”

The two of them walked in further into the room towards the living room. It was a spacious 1LDK with a spacious loft, and a spacious living room.

“We call this Safe House 5, but I usually live here.” Hatsune smiled at her. “I don’t usually use the loft… and the walls are soundproof so you could play the piano anywhere here.”

“I see… Would it be really all right with you if I live here for a while?” Sakiko looked around the house. “Is it alright if I use the space at the loft?”

Hatsune nodded. “You can take the bedroom too, I can sleep on the couch.”

“A futon and the loft is all right. Thank you, Hatsune.” Sakiko smiled at her.

“However, just like what we did…” Hatsune walked towards her and handed her a spare key. “You have to go inside from the 6th floor.”

“Understood.” Sakiko smiled at her. “Thank you… Hatsune.” She took the spare key from Hatsune’s hand as they stood there looking at each other.

“Any time, Saki-chan.” Hatsune smiled at her.

Their sweet silence together was suddenly interrupted by a phone call to the house’s phone.

Hatsune was quick to respond to the phone call and answered it before it could ring a second time.

“Hello–“

“Ah, Imouto-chan~ Glad you’ve made it safely. Stop ignoring my calls!” Chisato’s voice was energetic.

“I- I wouldn’t ignore your calls if you didn’t say such useless things! Dumb Onee-chan!”

“Auuu! You’re starting to sound like Takina! I was just kidding.” Chisato’s voice was sad. “Well, I was kidding but also, I want you to chase your happiness, too. Make good use of this opportunity and woo the lady.”

“Onee-chan! If you’re just gonna–“

“That aside, we’re going to take over the investigation of your pretty cute girl’s stalker. All you need to do is to keep her protected, okay?”

“Mm.” Hatsune turned to look at Sakiko who was walking around her house. “I will. Thank you, Onee-chan.” She put down the phone and turned to the light blue haired girl who looked at her with curiosity.

“What did they say?” Sakiko asked, curious.

“She said that to try not to think of things and… that I’ll do my best to protect you.” Hatsune smiled. “For now, why don’t you take a bath? It’s almost two in the morning. Let’s rest up.”

Sakiko nodded. “All right. I’ll be fine with a shower. Thank you… Hatsune. Please take care of me.”

“Mm. It’s my pleasure, Saki-chan!” Hatsune smiled at her. “So the toilet is here…”

Chisato stretched her arms above her head as Takina double checked the rope tied around a thug on the ground.

“You didn’t have to tease her so much about it.” Takina stood next to Chisato.

“Well, aside from it being kind of funny… I wish Sakiko-chan could help her embrace that part of herself.” Chisato gave Takina a wry smile. “We all know about how much she dislikes having it mentioned or figured out, but if she lived with someone she liked, who could understand her…”

“…Then it would be better for her, is what you mean?” Takina sighed. “I would never claim to understand every single one of your actions but… if that’s what you say so.”

“Chisato-san’s eyes never lie~ That girl likes her as much as she does to her. Maybe they just need a bit more push.” Chisato winked at Takina then pressed the button on her comms. “Kusunoki-saaaan. We’re done here, can we go back?”

Takina sighed. “I’ll just totally ignore the part where you thought I was in love with some 40 year old guy.”

“Forgive me about that already~ I was just a tiiinny bit jelly.” Chisato shook her head in disappointment.

“Fine, fine.” Takina scoffed, then smiled.

“You’re clear. The rest of the Lycoris will handle the clean up.” Kusunoki’s voice was clear.

“You got Sakiko-chan’s address?” Chisato turned to Takina.

“Yep, from Kurumi. And, Anon-san took over Hatsune’s shift.”

“Ahhh…” Chisato looked up at the night sky. “Gotta apologize to Soyo-chan tomorrow then.”

Takina nodded in affirmation.
